PERMISSIONS
[OOC]
This is the permissions list for OOC (out of character), activity.
Backtagging: Yes
Threadhopping: Yes - under the condition that all involved parties are of similar opinion
Comments in Subject Lines: I love them!
Fourthwalling: Toothiana's nature is given to some fourthwalling with her being the Tooth Fairy. Provided it is within the confines of game parameters and that you don't tell her you know her from her canon specifically, then I'm fine with this!
Offensive subjects: All clear! Tooth doesn't come with any warnings, and I'm not particularly sensitive to any specific topics, either!
Warnings: Due to the release of the newest book in the Guardians of Childhood novel series (The Sandman and the War of Dreams) potential Book IV spoilers are bound to make appearances. If you would like me to refrain from mentioning anything that may be a spoiler, please indicate so in the form of a comment below!
[IC]
This is the permissions list for IC (in-character), activity.
Hugging this character: Yes! Tooth loves hugging! Bearing in mind that if you're not a child, she might not reciprocate right away, not without suitable justification!
Kissing this character: As long as it isn't blatantly against her will, go for it...and remember, if you're not a child and you're a perfect stranger, she might respond with a right hook.
Flirting with this character: Go ahead! She might not know how to respond to this, however. Her only romantic knowledge stems from her long-deceased parents and the tiny infatuation she has with Jack Frost.
Fighting with this character: Bring it on, and just try and keep up with her! Tooth's fierce, fast, and can use her words just as well when things aren't physical!
Injuring this character: So long as any severe injuries are discussed with me prior and I agree to them, yes! As for nicks and scrapes, I'm generally okay with that kind of thing! Just as a courtesy, run it by me first?
Killing this character: Um...let's cross that bridge if and when we get there? That's almost too important to decide without mapping out and considering circumstances.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: If your character has those kinds of powers and I've written Tooth's thoughts in italics where your character would be in the direct proximity of overhearing those thoughts, then feel free to be able to read them!
Using other magic on this character: I'd say this is dependent upon the nature of the magic, but I'm willing to work with players if they want to play around with this option!
Stealing items from this character: Tooth is very protective of her belongings, so I would advise checking with me on this, first. In most cases, if you take something from her and she catches you, you'll find yourself on the wrong end of a very waspish temper.
Triggers: There are a few to bear in mind. Because of her upbringing, murder and enslavement are both major triggers and can be expected to draw white-hot anger from Toothiana, particularly if harm is done to a child in any shape or form. Impaired memories will draw heavily upon her sympathetic side, and discrimination based on physical appearances will turn her fiercely protective.
IMPORTANT CANON-SPECIFIC PERMISSIONS
In Toothiana's canon, believing is seeing. What this means is, if you don't believe in more than the mundane, if you don't think there's anything else to life, and are generally convinced that what you can't see doesn't exist, than the likelihood of you being able to talk with, look at, and generally interact with Toothiana is pretty slim...unless, of course, contact is kept to text exchanges across the Network.
Alternatively, that also means that if you're a very open minded person, someone who's always believed in the Tooth Fairy, or happen to be someone willing to take a leap of faith, you stand a very good chance of seeing Toothiana, of being able to hear her and talk with her, and so on!
Naturally, CR is an ongoing process, so I encourage you to revisit this page and make any updates to your character's belief status as necessary, whether it be for the negative or the positive! (Meaning, for example, someone with wavering belief at first could later lean in favor of either denial or full belief, and I would update my CR Chart to reflect any new progress!)
To make it easier to gauge, I'll be keeping track using a Belief Meter, where values of 10 from 0 - 100 % represent the level of the character's belief and their ability to interact with Tooth beyond basic text exchanges! The breakdowns are as follows:
000% — Full Non-Believer. Cannot hear/see/touch Toothiana. Limited to text communications only.
010% — Unresponsive Non-Believer. Cannot hear/see/touch Toothiana. Limited to text communications only.
020% — Questioning Non-Believer. Cannot hear/see/touch Toothiana. Limited to text communications only.
030% — Wavering Non-Believer. Might hear/see/touch Toothiana. Text communication primary; other types may seldom vary.
040% — Lesser than Middling Belief. Might hear/see/touch Toothiana. Text communication primary; other types may seldom vary.
050% — Middling Belief. The ability to hear/see/touch Toothiana is present but infrequent. Communication methods may periodically vary.
060% — Greater than Middling Belief. Can hear/see/touch Toothiana more often, but rarely at once. Communication methods are more varied.
070% — Wary Believer. Can hear/see/touch Toothiana more often, but seldom at once. Communication methods may vary more often.
080% — Inquisitive Believer. Can hear/see/touch Toothiana regularly, sometimes all at once. Communication methods are open.
090% — Responsive Believer. Can hear/see/touch Toothiana regularly, sometimes all at once. Communication methods are open.
100% — Full Believer. Can hear/see/touch Toothiana without fail. All methods of communication open.

Player Name: Veda
Character Name: Penny (
Character Canon: "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog"
Penny is a very open-minded individual who has been in the City more than long enough to believe in just about anything. I'd put her between 90% and 100% on the Belief Meter.
Character Name: Pavel Andreievich Chekov (
Character Canon: Star Trek Reboot
Chekov has been in the City for a while and has learned to accept that there are things like magic that can't be explained by science as he knows it. I'd call him an open-minded scientist, so... 50%? Could easily go up.
Thanks for having such a thorough permissions post!

Added both your chars to the CR chart! (Pending any actual meetings of course, but I still use it to keep track of belief status!)
no subject
Character Name: James T. Kirk
Character Canon: Star Trek: AOS
Jim is used to a whole bunch of weird things going on in the City, so it won't take much for him to be made a believer of. (He was turned into a dog at one point, he's pretty much gold.) Also, elsewhere not in-game I play
no subject
It's Joey from Scorched ♥I'm just as stoked to be playing her, to tell the truth! I've had the muse since March last year and just...never got to breaking her in until now. I've seen your Jim around and I'm psyched about getting to play with him, btw!So, does around a 70% belief for Jim seem reasonable, then? There's wiggle room that way, and seems to fall into the category of what you described rather well.
no subject
Sounds good! He'll be a little squinty as he gets used to the fully-rounded idea but they should be chatting alright in no time. <3

Character Name: Julie Grigio
Character Canon: Warm Bodies
Julie'd be a 70 at first. Her world is full of Zombies and Terrible Things and she's been in the City long enough to have seen some crazy stuff. So she'd believe Toothiana to a point at first until she saw her in person. Then it'd definitely be a 100 which is a good thing because they'd get along so damn well.

Will add Julie's stats in just a sec, thanks for taking the time to fill this out!

Character Name: Carla Morir
Character Canon: Original Character
Carla... met a faerie-like thing before, and it was kind of a bad thing. So she believes but she super duper hates them oops.
Character Name: Tallendi Morrison
Character Canon: Original Character
Actually met the same demon-thing-faerie that Carla did, but has also met way more other supernatural whatnots than her and is generally more accepting, if a bit sarcastic and bitter, about the whole deal.
no subject
Presently, from the details you've given, I'm figuring Carla would be sitting at around an 80% (because hate is a long ways from indifference, so I imagine the belief is strong - correct me if I'm wrong!) and Tallendi would be about a 90% because he's been more exposed to the supernatural?

Character Name: Mae Crawford
Character Canon: The Demon's Lexicon
With a title like that to her canon, you'd expect Mae to believe pretty much everything is real and plausible. And she's summoned demons and had an angel for a roommate, her brother is a magician and one of her best friend is a witch - and as a child, she grew up dreaming of her
Hogwarts lettermagical abilities which she totally believed she had. So. Definitely high ranked.no subject

Character Name: John Grimm (
Character Canon: Doom (film)
— John comes from a world full of zombies and aliens and things - which is all very science-y. But it's made him a bit more open-minded when it comes to things. Coming to the City also helps, I guess. While he's still very skeptical about magical things, he'll eventually believe.
Character Name: Leonard McCoy (
Character Canon: Star Trek AOS
— Probably about 20% to 30% at the start. He's learned to reevaluate his stance on magic because of the City, Ginny Weasley, and Jim turning into a dog once (running joke, he's never letting Jim get over it) - like, he believes 100% that his world doesn't have magic, but he's grudgingly allowing that other worlds may have magic after all. It's gonna be tougher to make Bones believe 100%, but IDK, maybe he'll get there eventually??

Character Name: Nall (
Character Canon: Lunar
Nall is able to believe in fairly well anything. His own childhood (kittenhood?) showed him enough things to give him decent perspective on what could be. I'd put him between 90 and 100%.
Character Name: Jean-Paul Doret (
Character Canon: Lucifer's Tears
Jean-Paul is a lapsed Catholic who spent a period of time with Lucifer. He knows God and Angels exist, so other supernatural things are possible. While he is somewhere between wary and inquisitive, once he accepts that they are what they claim to be, he accepts it. I'm not sure where to put him numerically because of that.

Player Name: Tasha
Character Name: Jimmy Darmody
Character Canon: Boardwalk Empire
Jimmy would probably be like a 70% on the belief scale. He would have been much lower, but he's been in the City over a year now, which is plenty of time to get used to the fact that there're just some things he can't explain. I mean, he works in a magic store and has no problem believing in that, so I'd say a 70% with the definite potential to go higher.
Character Name: Meyer Lansky
Character Canon: Boardwalk Empire
Probably a 40%, because despite being in the City for a long time, he's a skeptic about just about everything until it's pretty much been proven to him. Again, it has the potential to go up!
Character Name: Michael Ginsberg
Character Canon: Mad Men
I'd put him at about an 80%, just because he's super open-minded and willing to accept almost everything, whether it's real in his world or not.

Character Name: Ginny Weasley (
Character Canon: Harry Potter
MAGIC MAGIC MAGIC! While I don't know if the tooth fairy is a ~thing~ with the witches and wizards of the HP world, everything else is. So I'm pretty confident in saying Ginny's 100% here. :)

Character Name: Koriand'r
Character Canon: DCNU
A BELATED PERMISSIONS RESPONSE but Kori is an orange alien from another planet, has (probably) known Zantana Zatarra at some point and is pretty open minded to almost everything ridiculous and bizarre! So I'm gonna stick her in at 80% belief for now.
no subject
I MEAN 80 SOUNDS GOOD, YES!
no subject
So on the belief scale, Theo here would be a %100 believer. He's a demi-god verging on god and his power grows on the belief of his worshipers so he "gets" is part of that whole belief = existence system. His family lost a lot of their power because of lack of belief and they've dwindled down to just a few of them from a huge pantheon. Also he's had dealings with fairy, if not quite the best ones.
Laruna
no subject
THAT IS OFF TOPIC THOUGH, WHAT I WANT TO SAY IS THAT Laruna sounds like she'd be about a 70% or so - kind of right between middling belief and full, so there's wiggle room! y/n?
